Water and Sewer

Within the city limits, the City of Prineville provides both water and sewer services. New residents must go directly to City Hall to have these services turned on. Prineville receives its drinking water from the Prineville Reservoir. Powell Butte, Juniper Canyon and the other unincorporated areas of Crook County are dependent on well-water and septic systems. Residents are served by one of two electric companies depending upon where they live: Central Electric Co-op 541-548-2144 or call Pacific Power Company at 888-221-7070.


Natural gas is widely available in the region and is supplied for residents and business by Cascade Natural Gas Corporation. To turn gas on or off call 888-522-1130.
